This is a social-networking stand-alone browser game played on PC, where you challenge yourself and friends to share creative writing skills, by translating a bunch of random pictures into words, and linking them together in a short story.
- Game Library is a collection of pictures made by game artists that could be interpreted in different ways, to serve the game’s purpose.
- There will be a board showing all publicly shared stories sorted by date, the top 10 rated will be pinned at the top of the list.
- The game has a Number of Pictures Limit, and a Number of Words Limit, depending on the level. Both are connected with a positive correlation, where the more you advance in the game the more pictures you have to link, and the more words you are allowed to write.
- The game has the option to connect to social media accounts. Also, you can choose to publish your stories to your friends in the game, or to the game’s public community.
- There is a rating system that is essential to climb to higher levels, where you will need more interaction with other players.
- Transforming Picture Into Words rules:
1- one word limit for each picture
2- If a word is reported by 80% of the players who read your story, you lose half your Rating Points in total, so your level goes down. If you get reported more than three times, if you have top rated stories they will be unpinned.
This game can motivate our brains to innovate by putting various elements in the frame of one story. I had a trial, asking friends to play the game with me on Facebook Messenger, picking random images from the internet; it was fun and brain itching.
When your friend accepts the challenge you sen them, and write a story, it is automatically shared with you. After you finish reading it, you will be able to see the words they chose for each picture. This makes it more fun, because you will be trying to find the words expresses the pictures you sent. And that’s also where you can report any inappropriate words.
- If you share your stories publicly, other players can read it and rate it. Publishing publicly will allow other players to see your profile, thus they can send you a friend request.
- If you only share with friends, you will have less rating, thus slower level progression.
Rating system aims to make the game progression’s pace slow, so gamers won’t get bored, as it’s a writing game, so it needs more time and effort.
The word limit aims to minimize time to write and read, thus making it more efficient.
Also, the game promotes social interaction, as if you cannot get your friends to play, you have the option to blend in the public society of the game to rate and get rating points.
Progression: in early game, you have less pictures but less words to express it. As you advance and get more engaged, the Fun Factor will be to link a bigger number of pictures.
The last level is designed differently as a closure of the game, it’s the most challenging one, you have a very low average of words to express each picture, as you are allowed to use up to 599 words to express 20 pictures.
